Welcome back. I am SOO excited to get the year started with our fantastic book club! For those of you new to the book club, we will meet about once a month to discuss the book of your choosing. At the end of each book club, we will vote on our next read. I will provide a dessert that ties into the theme of the book. For our first meeting, I have gone ahead and chosen the first book that we will discuss. However, after the first meeting, the books that we read will be your choice. SO, for our first pick, we will be reading Gregor the Overlander: Book One in the Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins. It has won countless awards and promises to be an exciting fantasy journey that you won't want to miss. Our first meeting will take place on Monday, October 10th during lunch in the media center. We have a few copies of the book in the LS media center but we also encourage you to check it out at your local public library. Therefore, by October 10th please come to book club having finished the book and don't forget to bring your lunch. I will provide a dessert that ties into the theme of the book.
